A sudden disruption to teaching and learning is a major stress for early childhood programs, school districts, and teachers. Educators worry that children may not have a full opportunity to consolidate and integrate new skills. To help, Kaplan Early Learning Company is providing activities so families may continue the learning at home. These activities are designed to reinforce concepts and skills already introduced at school and are developed to continue building critical kindergarten-readiness skills, including literacy, math, science, and social-emotional skills. The activities emphasize “big ideas” that parents can understand and relate to and that children can practice repeatedly in a variety of ways, without boredom.
